Personal Progress Posters- July

These Personal Progress posters are a great addition to the monthly Come Follow Me Curriculum used in Young Womens for Sunday lessons. I like to print these posters on cardstock and laminate (mainly because lamination makes my heart happy) and post these up in the room to remind the girls of what they can work on in Personal Progress. You can click the image above to purchase these printables from my TPT store.

Music Transitions in the Classroom

Since I work on a non traditional calendar, I’ve been thinking about things I want to do differently in my classroom next year. Seeing how, “next year” starts in four weeks for me…my mind has been going 90 to nothing. For my end of year teachers gifts, I received several iTunes gift cards. I knew they would be perfect in helping me try something new in my classroom next year. I’ve been wanting to do music transitions for a long time but was having trouble figuring out how I would play the music and narrowing down which songs I would use.

I did a little searching and found some other teachers lists of favorite songs to use in the classroom and discovered the blue tooth speaker that your iPhone can connect to! Maybe I’ve been hiding under a rock but I had no idea that this thing existed! So I ordered this speaker on Amazon and I can’t wait to try this management tip out!

Here is a list of the songs that I’m going with. Note that I only listed a few of my favorites for Independent Work time…I also like to play Jim Brickman and other calming piano songs as well.

Some of the songs are too long to play during the time that I need them so I have searched online and figured out that you can “clip” down songs while in iTunes. I haven’t tried it yet because I haven’t synced my new songs to my iTunes but I’ll let you know if it works or not! :)

What are your thoughts about using music transitions? I’d love to hear your success stories!

June Currently (REALLY Late)
