Meal Planning

Hank and I decided a while back that grocery shopping would be so much easier if we planned our meals and what we needed before we went to the store. I’m sure you all have done it but try not to go to the grocery store hungry. You buy tons of JUNK. So I’m going to add my October Menu Calendar so you can see what we are eating. I’m also going to share the links for the recipes as well. image

Monday we had a fabulous dinner! Hubs grilled some chicken with butter and lemon juice (yum!) The side (something new) was the Southwestern Black Bean Salad. Delish!

Yesterday we tried something new again and had Loaded Twice Baked Potatoes. It was really good.

Today I had salad for lunch with left over grilled chicken from Monday night on top. Yummy! Hank and I started counting calories and we have both lost 6 pounds in a week. I know that is considered unhealthy weight loss but we have both been eating good food and watching how much we consume. No exercise at this point yet.

Tonight is something simple, grilled pork chops with left overs and probably just a can of green beans.

Tomorrow we are having Grilled Chicken Sandwiches.

Sunday we are having Slow Cooker Chicken Tacos.

Monday we will have  BBQ Chicken Stuffed Potatoes

and Tuesday we will have Taco Stuffed Pasta Shells.

That’s all I have planned for so far. I’m still looking for new recipes

  1. We swear by meal planning! :)I cut our groceries down to $400 a month by meal planning and only shopping once a week. We are saving so much money!!! I really enjoyed talking to you! :) We have so much in common it is crazy! haha

  2. I usually can only manage to plan for a week at a time, otherwise those leftovers throw us off so far! :-) Would love to know how to make the calendar template!
