Drumroll please….

I can not say enough good things about Blaire. Ah-mazing. She really does fabulous work…see again for yourself.
This last picture here ^ is actually going to be enlarged and hung up at the Creekside Clinic for Women. Audrey will be famous! :)

Now I just have to figure out what sizes of what I want to order….tough, right?

Maternity Pictures

Blaire Perry is awesome. The end.
Check out our maternity pictures.
If you live in NW Arkansas. Check her out for your pictures. She really does a fabulous job and is such a blessing to work with. :)
Audrey’s pictures are up next…stay tuned.

So I must be the last person on the earth to join. Seriously. But now I’m addicted. It’s fabulous. Join. Stalk. Pin. Enjoy.

On another note…Audrey will be 2 weeks old on Tuesday. I ended my pregnancy at 160 lbs. I weighed myself a few days ago and I was down to 140 lbs. I officially have 15 lbs. to lose to get back down where I want to be. I can’t exactly start this process until I after I have my 6 week appointment…August 24th. I’m sure I’ll be blogging about it too. The weight loss that is. I’m pretty sure I’m not off to a good start. I just baked a chocolate chip cookie dough cheese cake tonight and it’s ah-mazing! Oops.

Doctor Appointment Update

Well, we had to take Audrey back to the doctor today to check her weight to make sure she was gaining. Her appointment was today at 9:15 am. Turns out she is gaining weight just fine! Today she weighed 5 pounds 13 ounces. She was up four ounces from Monday, exactly where she is supposed to be. {thank goodness!} Apparently when babies are born their thyroid kicks in because they no longer rely on mommas so they take blood 24 hours after birth to check the thyroid level. Apparently her level was high {little did I know} and they needed to take blood again today to make sure it was leveling back out. (Thyroid levels can be higher in premature babies…completely normal.) So they took her back to the lab to take blood. Oh.My.Gosh y’all, you would have thought they were doing something terrible by the way her daddy was acting. We could hear her crying from down the hall and her daddy just wanted her back in his arms. It was hard to hear her cry {since she never cries} but since I have a son I guess I was just a little used to it. (Kiddos get lots o’ shots!) We should know the results of her thyroid in another week or so. She goes back for her one month check up on August 16th. I begin classes for my masters degree on August 22nd. Time is a flyin’. And because I can’t resist posting pictures of our sweet baby girl…a small preview of her baby pictures done by the amazing Blaire Perry {check out her website here}.

Happy One Week Audrey!

You are the most calm baby ever.
{I hope I didn’t just jinx you.}

While we were in the hospital the pediatrician was so pleased with how you were doing. He came in on the day we were to leave and said that you act like you know it all. (Daddy says you get that from me.) You have not acted like a premature baby at all. That makes my heart happy.

You make some of the cutest faces and sounds.

You hardly ever cry unless you are getting your diaper changed, which I’m sure is just because you are cold.

You discover your thumb when you are hungry.
We all love you so very much and no one can seem to put you down. I’m going to brag and say that I’m doing pretty good at not holding you all the time but your daddy...not so much! (I know what happens to babies who are held all the time...they want to be held all the time.)

Tryp loves to give you kisses and he thinks every noise you make means you are crying. Today on the way to school Tryp informed us that he didn’t love us, only you.
He only loves you Audrey.
I can’t wait to see the relationship that will form between you two.  IMG_0198
You had your first doctor appointment yesterday.

We found a pediatrician (Dr. Harvey) and we really like him. He looked you over (a tad rough) and said you looked great! You weighed 5 lbs. 9 oz. and were still 17 3/4 in. long. They did a bilirubin test for jaundice and your number was great! We talked about how well you are nursing for a “premature” baby and how preemies will often sneeze and have the hiccups. Guess what? You do! All the time! Sneeze! And have the hiccups! We are taking  you back on Friday to check your weight again and I pray that it goes up to what it needs to so we don’t have to supplement with formula.
We are so blessed to have you here in our lives and have you here so healthy.

I know it’s only been a week but we are crazy about you. In love to be precise.

I can’t believe it’s already been a week and we want time to slow down! We love you.

Days in the Hospital

Babies really do change super fast. After only a day we could all tell how much Audrey had changed. One thing that didn’t change between birthday and day one is the fact that she looks like her daddy. We still haven’t discovered what features she has of her mommy’s. All we know is that she is absolutely gorgeous!
