New Things

As I was told ... bedrest is the way I need to continue this pregnancy I couldn't help but to be a tad excited about the fact that I could update my blog more, even get more into the blogging world. Then I realized, I have nothing too exciting to post because I can't get up.
-No new pictures of Tryp because he's a three year old boy and we all know that three year old boys are too busy to get their pictures taken.
-No exciting trips anywhere.
-Not a whole lot of crafting going on but my husband has graciously started to bring my tubs of goodies to the bed.

I'm thinking maybe a post a week is about as good as it will get!

New things to share...

1. Hank is  now off of work completely for the month of April. He has accrued about 580 hours of sick time and is able to take off the month under FMLA. Thank goodness because it has been a nightmare tough to take care of a three year old in the evening when I'm supposed to be on bed rest.
Just because y'all are so curious I just want to add that I have the best huband in the world. He has taken so well to all of this and is literally waiting on me hand and foot. He is a blessing for sure.

2. I am crocheting/knitting in bed so I will hopefully have some pictures to post soon of what I have been working on. :) My husband loves seeing how his spot on the bed has become filled with yarn and tomorow will be filled with ribbon!

3. My students miss me terribly and I've decided to add them on facebook as friends. One thing I told myself I would NEVER do but I made sure that I didn't have anything on there that could jeopardize my job as a teacher and of course I don't and they miss me and I miss them. SO what the heck! They are angels and I am so proud of them for understanding why I can't be with them any more.

4. I am currently reading "I Will Carry You: The Sacred Dance of Grief and Joy" by Angie Smith. It is a very emotional book about Angie who continued carrying a child in her womb even though she had been told that the baby was "incompatible with life". You might be thinking WHY IN THE WORLD ARE YOU READING THAT????? I know it's not the best book to read while going through some of the things that I am going through. I recently saw Angie Smith speak at a women's conference and wanted to read her book even before the conference. You see, Angie Smith has a very popular blog called Bring The Rain. I began reading her blog long ago and never thought I would get to meet someone from the blogging world. She is an amazing Godly woman that appears to have unshakable faith. What I love most about this book so far is that she is just like you and me and struggles in her faith too! This book is about her sweet angel baby Audrey. Hank and I had picked the name Audrey when I was probably 5 weeks pregnant and Angie's story had never entered into my mind. This book will bring you to tears and even have moments of laughter because Angie is hilarious! It is a wonderful book about how her faith in God changed drastically through the experience. Interested? Buy the book here. She also has another book coming out in is the info. I am SO excited to read that one too!

***I just realized that I sound like a sales person in New Things No. 4...I totally am not and I never have been a good sales person but if it's something I love I seem to do a good job "selling it". :)***

5. I ordered another book online on Monday called "One Thousand Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are" by Ann Voskamp. My cousin Kim and I are going to read this together and I am thrilled to start it! I think I might even do some blog posts about it!

6. I have another doctor appointment on Tuesday (April 5th). Please pray that bed rest has kept my cervix from any more shortening. **A Praise: Bed rest has stopped my bleeding all together!!!**

20 Weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along:  20 weeks (plus 4 days) so almost 21 weeks!
Size of baby: Baby B is 11 ounces- about the size of a small cantaloupe.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I weigh 133 which means I've gained 5 lbs total.
Maternity Clothes: Now that I am on bed rest finding clothes to wear is not as much of a struggle as it has been. I can stay in pajama pants and t shirts.
Gender: It's a girl!! :) Audrey Mayne Brockmeyer
Movement: She is a little gymnast, constantly flipping and moving!
Sleep: Love sleep!
What I miss: After all the "things" going on with this pregnancy, I'm starting to miss normalcy. I just want to be able to enjoy the pregnancy instead of being stuck on a couch or in bed.
Cravings: Nothing too specific, this last week I ate a lot of salads and still love having bagels and cream cheese for breakfast.
Symptoms: After spending the weekend in the hospital they were able to make the bleeding stop and the cramps/contracts stop as well. Now that I am back home I have had a very small amount of bleeding which is to be expected.
Best Moment this week: As much of a "scary" moment it was going to the hospital Friday was a joy to have Audrey "monitored". I got to hear her heartbeat constantly for a couple of hours and feel alot of movement as that strap around my belly was invading her space!

Good News and Bad News

Hey ya'll!
I'll start with the good news because hopefully it will make every one of my 16 followers as happy as I am! We had our ultrasound on Tuesday and the baby is a GIRL. I know- do the happy dance- woohoo! Audrey Mayne is her name. We are so in love already!

The not so good news...
You remember a couple of posts back about that subchorionic hematoma (blood clot) thingy well it's gone. (okay good news I guess) Unfortunately I am still bleeding so they had to figure out why. It appears that my cervix is effacing early. :( I am measuring at 2.4 cm in length when it should be 4.0+. They normally don't begin to worry about the thinning unless you drop below 2.5. It looks like the sac is starting to funnel into the cervix but they can't tell for sure. I also have a low lying placenta which is called placenta previa. I think that the low lying placenta is what's causing the bleeding but the thinning cervix could also cause bleeding as well. They aren't sure which one is causing it. For some people they put a stitch in called a cerclage but they think it's too risky to do in my case because they could possibly rupture the sac. So I'm on bedrest. Which means I will have plenty of time to update my blog and read everyone elses and end up liking a million others! :)

Please pray guys. God is the only one who can handle this situation and we pray that he will allow us to have this sweet baby girl a part of our family. We want her to stay inside to keep growing so she can come join our family as a healthy little girl. :)

Isaiah 41:10

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

18 Weeks

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 18 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby B is 6 ounces- about the size of a mango.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained 4 lbs.
Maternity Clothes: This is a sore subject. I hate getting dressed every day. I know it's only going to get worse. I just want it to warm up so I can wear dresses and leggings every day! (I think I might have mentioned something about dresses and leggings in my last pregnancy post!) haha!
Gender: We will find out in 12 days! :) EEEeeeeekkkk!!! I had a dr appointment today and the heatbeat was significantly lower than it has been. It has been 155-160+ but today it was between 135-140. We are on edge wondering what it is, still hoping for a sweet baby girl. :)
Movement: I started feeling it a few days after my 15 week post. I feel flutters and occasionally a good kick. Each day it seems to be getting stronger. I can't wait for Hank to feel it!
Sleep: Still sleeping pretty good. 7 hours doesn't seem like it's enough though. I could sleep forever!
What I miss: Fitting into all my clothes and looking "cute". Don't get me wrong, being pregnant is a blessing and I know that it's beautiful but I honestly don't feel attractive. I know this is normal to feel this way. I'm over it.
Cravings: Salads. Ice Cream. Yogurt. Cheese. I'm sensing a main theme here....DAIRY.
Symptoms: Absolutely nothing. This is that part of pregnancy where you don't really 'feel' pregnant.
Best Moment this week: Waking up at 1 AM to tinkle and laying in bed wishing I could feel the baby and in that instant of wishing, the baby kicked me three times pretty strong! :)
